FAQ Header

Is Barcelona Hair Academy officially registered as an educational centre in Spain?

Yes. Barcelona Hair Academy operates as a registered private educational centre in Spain.

You can find our details in the official Ministry of Education registry:

This registration reflects our status as a private training provider. However, registration does not in itself determine eligibility for a student visa, as this depends on the specific programme and the criteria applied by each Spanish consulate under current immigration regulations.

Being part of this registry can support your student visa application, as it confirms that we are a recognised educational institution in Spain. Because of this, we recommend including this information when applying at your local Spanish consulate.

How do I get my NIE number (or residents permit)?

If you are staying in Barcelona for longer than three months (and if you want to work) you are required to register as a resident in Barcelona. When you do this you will be given an NIE number (Foreign Identity Number). There are a number of organisations that can help you with this. We highly recommend talking to  https://www.niebarcelona.com or https://www.justlandedbcn.com/nie-barcelona/

Can you help me get a student Visa?

  • If you are coming from outside the EU and plan to stay in Spain for more than 90 days, you may require a student visa.

It is essential that you contact your local Spanish consulate before applying to Barcelona Hair Academy to confirm whether your chosen course qualifies for a visa under current regulations. Visa requirements vary by country and are subject to change, and the final decision always rests with the consulate.

Barcelona Hair Academy does not assess visa eligibility and cannot guarantee visa approval.

Once enrolled, we can provide supporting documentation for your application, including:

    • an invitation letter
    • proof of enrolment
    • payment receipts

An administration fee  applies for the preparation and handling of these documents.

If a visa is denied before the course start date and official written proof is provided, tuition fees may be refunded in accordance with our terms and conditions. The administration fee and deposit are non-refundable.

For stays of up to 90 days, many non-EU nationals (including US citizens) may study in Spain without a visa, depending on their circumstances.
